The Bathing House by Peter Jungmann
Check out this amazing bathing house on the shore of the Weißensee in Carintha in south central Austria. Built in 2007, the bathing house is completely made of natural larch. This outstanding building has been awarded two prizes: the Carinthian Timber Construction Prize in 2007 and the Building Prize of the Province of Carinthia in 2008.
The bathing house consists of one room which has been divided up into several zones. A large jetty with access to a bathing platform links directly to the lake. The bathing house has a small kitchen with a fridge, sink, hob and worktop. It includes cooking utensils as well as tableware and cutlery for up to eight people. A table, eight chairs and a sofa bed invite guests to enjoy a cosy get-together. Further amenities can be found at the back of the house. These include a sauna, WC, shower, washbasin and a storage space. A fixed ladder leads to the gallery in the main room, from where guests can enjoy wonderful views of the lake.
